(KTNC) - The investigation continues into the hit-and-run death of a rural Auburn woman, though authorities say they have more information about the truck that allegedly struck and killed 69-year-old Barbara Bolen. Bolen was struck as she was going to the mailbox at her home along Highway 136 east of Auburn last Wednesday evening.
The Nemaha County Sheriff’s Department says the vehicle involved is a silver or light gray colored Kenworth truck, a T-800 or similar model. The vehicle would likely have damage to the front passenger side around the fender or headlight.
Anyone who has seen a truck matching that description, or a truck matching that description that was absent from its normal location and is either still missing or has returned with repairs to the right front is asked to contact either the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Department or the Nebraska State Patrol.
Contact the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Department at 402-274-3139 or the Nebraska State Patrol at 402-471-0112.
The Sheriff’s Department says several people have come forward with possible leads. Those leads have lead to similar trucks, but none that have turned out to be the suspect vehicle.
