(KAIR) -- A 32-year-old Independence, Missouri man will head to prison on an Atchison-based child sex charge.
Ronald Heavener was sentenced Monday in Atchison County District Court to 59 months in prison on a charge of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.
He was arrested last September for having unlawful sexual contact with a three-year-old male in Atchison in February 2012.
Heavener pleaded no contest last month to the charge as part of a plea agreement.
He originally faced life in prison.
He had no prior convictions.
