Drug Charges Dismissed for Atchison Man
03/13/2013

(KAIR) -- Charges have been dismissed for an Atchison man accused of multiple drug charges.

Steven Bowen had three counts of possession of narcotics and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia dropped late last week in Atchison County District Court.

His jury trial was originally set for Tuesday after pleading not guilty in early February.

County Attorney Gerald Kuckelman said that’s because of problems that developed over the course of the Atchison Police investigation, causing the state not to be able to proceed.

Kuckelman likened the issues to a recent investigation where charges against 20 individuals were dismissed as the result of issues with the confidential informant in the case.

Bowen was arrested in mid-November for allegedly possessing controlled pharmaceuticals that were discovered in a room at 1201 Pacific Court where Bowen was believed to be staying.
