Atchison Preparing for Farm-City Banquet

(KAIR) -- City business leaders and rural farmers will converge Tuesday evening at Atchison’s Heritage Conference Center for the 37th annual Farm-City Banquet.

The event, hosted by Atchison Chamber of Commerce, will feature 14 booths of area businesses from 4:30 to 6:15.

Projects Coordinator Mary Jane Sowers says one of the highlights of the program will be the annual pie baking contest.

Citizens may enter their pies up until 5:45 Tuesday evening, with judging to begin at six.

Sowers says the event will continue with dinner from six to 6:45.

The entertainment will consist of the Effingham based Soundmasters.

Door prizes will then be given away, donated by area businesses.

Sowers says tickets are still available at the Atchison Chamber of Commerce until the end of the business day on Tuesday.
