USD 377 Will Keep Pre/K Classes in Central Office
04/10/2013

(KAIR) -- The Effingham USD 377 board Monday night decided to  keep ther pre-school and kindergarten classes in the central office for next school year.

Discussions began on future locations following the moving of the classes over a year ago from " Building B" due to safety issues.

The elementary staff came up with two options. Option 1 was to keep the classes at the Central office.  Option 2 was to relocate the classes to the main building by reorganizing programs and classrooms, along with remodeling of Special Ed space in the north section of the building.

The board was told last month that the elementary staff strongly supported option 1.

In other business, the board discussed how textbook curriculum will be affected with the implementation of iPad technology.

Superintendent Steve Wiseman says that caused, in part, the tabling of a Language Arts textbook proposal. (Play Audio)

Wiseman says action on the textbooks will be taken at the May meeting.
