(KAIR) -- Work is set to begin next week on resurfacing U.S. 59 in Atchison.

The work begins Wednesday on the stretch from the foot of the Amelia Earhart Bridge to the west city limits.

City Manager Trey Cocking says this is part of KDOT’s KLINK cost share program.

Traffic will directed through the project work zone via signage, flaggers and possible pilot vehicles.

The project is expected to be completed in mid-July, weather permitting.
