(KAIR) -- An Atchison man will head to prison on a burglary charge.
John Portis will serve eight months for breaking into the Quick Stop east convenience store in December.
This comes after a competency evaluation was ordered and granted earlier this year.
In late March, Portis was found competent to stand trial.
Portis was also given 18 months of post-release probation Friday in Atchison County District Court for charges related to taking a financial card and using it to take a movie from a Redbox kiosk.
