(KLZA) What are the busiest places in Falls City? There are the obvious answers but one you might not think about is the Falls City Library and Arts Center.
Librarian Hope Schawang presented the annual library report to the City Council Monday night noting that on average the facility hosts more than 3,800 visitors per month. That averages out to better than 190 people per day.
A little more than half of the monthly visits are for computer usage. Schawang told the Council she feels the programs offered by the four member staff are well received by the more than 4,100 library patrons.
Total circulation which includes books, magazines, computer downloads and such averages more than 13,200 per month.
One of the busiest times at the Falls City Library and Arts Center is after school. Schawang says the library provides a safe haven and gives kids something to do.
The new library celebrated it’s sixth year this past January.
The new building allowed for a major expansion in computers offered and that number will be increasing soon as all current computers will be replaced with new ones due to recently announced grants.
