(KAIR) -- The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has opened a 30-day public comment period regarding a proposal to address environmental contamination at the Unit Rail Anchor Company Site located at 2604 Industry Street in Atchison.
Unit Chief for the Site Remediation Unit at KDHE Ryan Weiser says this is a routine process for the company.

A draft Corrective Action Decision document outlining a proposal for cleanup is available for public review at the Atchison Public Library located at 401 Kansas Ave. in Atchison, and at Curtis State Office Building, 1000 SW Jackson St. in Topeka.
The Draft CAD and other pertinent information are available online at www.kdheks.gov/remedial.
Public comments can be submitted in writing to: Charlotte Philip, KDHE Bureau of Environmental Remediation, 1000 SW Jackson St., Suite 410, Topeka, KS 66612-1367. Comments will be accepted until July 19, 2013.
