Boil water advisory lifted for Doniphan Co RWD 3
11/06/2025

(KAIR)--Doniphan County Rural Water District 3 is no longer under the boil water advisory issued because of a waterline break, meaning a loss of pressure in the distribution system for Atchison County Rural Water District 5C.

The Doniphan County district receives it's water from the Atchison County provider, and was the last of the customers to remain under the advisory, which was lifted Wednesday for the City of Lancaster, in Atchison County.

According to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, in a release issued late Thursday morning, laboratory testing of drinking water samples collected from the Doniphan County water system indicate no evidence of contamination, meaning state health officials have rescinded the advisory.

According to KDHE, failure to maintain adequate pressure may result in a loss of chlorine residuals and bacterial contamination, which led to the initial issuance of the now lifted boil water advisory.
