Citizens will have a new path of travel and parking on one of Atchison’s narrower streets for business.
This week, city crews re-configured the street and parking on eight street between Kansas Avenue and Commercial street.
What was once two lanes in the middle of the road with two lanes of parallel parking now is two lanes that end on the west side of the street and pull-in parking on the east side.
This came to light at the request of business owners on that street and city commissioners approved the measure to change it late last year.
