(KLZA)-- The Pawnee City School Board has approved contract changes for the districts Superintendent Stephen Grizzle and Principal Don Jacobs.
On a 5-1 vote the Board approved extending the contract of Superintendent Grizzle for one year, to expire at the end of the 2016-17 school year at a 2-percent increase. Board member Lisa Hunzeker cast the nay vote.
Principal Jacobs contract with a 3.5-percent pay increase for the 2015-16 school year was unanimously approved.
The Board voted to increase the 2015 Fitness Center rates for single members from $10 per quarter to $15 a quarter and increase family memberships from $15 up to $20 per quarter. The vote was 5-1 with Board member Brian Rottinghaus casting a nay vote.
In other action the Board voted to accept the audit report ending August 31, 2014. The early separation policy was approved and the Board approved offering up to three eligible participants for the next year.
A proposal to allow a staff member that has a child competing in an NSAA-sanctioned State Championship event to have a day of Professional leave for the day of the competition, provides school is still in session for more than a half-day died due to the lack of a motion.
