Eleven teams competed in the Johnson County Central Track Invitation Friday, with Syracuse winning the girls’ team title and Wilber-Clatonia claiming the boys’ title.
 Syracuse dominated the girls’ team standings with 125 points, nearly doubling the total of Wilber-Clatonia and Palmyra, which tied for second with 63 points each.  Southern was fourth, Johnson County Central 8th, and Falls City Sacred Heart 11th.  
 Southern’s Jeryn Creek set a meet record in winning the long jump with a distance of 17-feet, 11.25-inches.  The old meet record of 17-feet, 5-inches set in 1994.
 Syracuse won eight events, with individual titles going to Emily Harsin in the 11-meter hurdles, Paige Kapperman in the 800-meter run, Haley Harsin in the 1600-meter run, Julia Reed in the triple jump, Allie Esch in the high jump, and Lauren Sand in the pole vault.
 In the boys’ portion of the meet, Wilber-Clatonia was first with 94 points.  Palmyra edged Syracuse by one point for second place.  Falls City Sacred Heart was 5th with 49 points, just one point from 4th place Lincoln Southwest and two points ahead of 6th place Southern.  Johnson County Central and Louisville tied for 9th with 34 points.
 Individually, Carter Zlab of Wilber-Clatonia won both the 200 and 400-meter dashes; Justin Damme of JCC won the discus; and Jordan Murphy of Southern won the high jump.  Sacred Heart had one event win, with Chaz Dunn, Yianni Haralabidis, Lane Barnhill, and Austin Martin combining to win the 4-by-400 meter relay.
