High school spring sports are gearing up for postseason play and six area athletes have qualified for the 3-2-1A state tennis meet on Friday and Saturday in Wichita.
Four area athletes will be competing in the singles competition with two Junior Ravens from Maur-Hill Mount Academy, one Marysville Bulldog and one Immaculata Raider. For Maur-Hill they will be sending juniors, Evan Wheeler (21-4) and Macro Cronenbold (18-6). While for Immaculata it will be James Cha (24-9) competing, while Marysville will be sending Tyler Taphorn (15-14).
Going to state with their teammate Taphorn will be Joe McNish and Garrison Wright for Marysville; as they will be competing in double's competition at state.
Action will start this Friday at 10:30am and continue on Saturday at 9:00am in Wichita held at Riverside-Tennis Complex.
