It’s been just over a week since the upgrade to the Department of Motor Vehicles system was implemented statewide, and there have been a lot of bugs in the system so far.
However, in Atchison County, things are starting to become less chaotic as there aren’t as many lines flowing out of the door.
County Treasurer Sheila Bilderback says the first few days were the worst.

Bilderback said the majority of the issues have been happening on the state’s end.
She says most of the people that have waited have been patient and asks that people remain that way, and to expect anything, as the system continues to work itself out.

The Treasurer’s office does welcome the reprieve, as it allows them to get caught up on the tax collection process that coincided with the upgrade.
