World War Two Veteran Schock Speaks at Falls City Memorial Day Service
05/29/2012

Memorial Day observances were held in towns around the region and nation Monday.  A short service was held at Steele Cemetery in Falls City, with the speaker, World War Two veteran Bill Schock.
Schock said those in attendance were paying their respects to 626-thousand American men and women who have died in war since World War One.  (play audio  :39)
Schock recounted the sacrifice of one young man from Falls City, Paul Holtz.  (play audio  1:10)
Schock said he hoped those who attended the service were there because they wanted to be there, not because they thought it was their duty.  Monday’s service at Steele Cemetery lasted for approximately 20 minutes.
