Area motorists are reminded that delays can be expected on four U.S. Highway 36 bridges near Hiawatha, as repair work is underway this week.
Two of the bridges are located approx point-5-miles west of the US-73/US-36 junction in Hiawatha, near the 12th Street exit, while the remaining two bridges are approximately 2.3 miles and 3 miles east of the US-73/US-36 junction.

Traffic will be restricted to a 15-foot lane through the work zone during the duration of the project. Bridges, Inc, of Newton, KS, is the primary contractor on this bridge repair project with a total contract cost of $386,337.
