Atchison County Commissioners have approved financing a tax exemption for Maur Hill-Mount Academy’s plan to improve facilities on campus.
In Wednesday’s regular meeting, no public hearing comments were given prior to approval of the conduit financing.
With upgraded energy from 360 energy, the project will be just under $500,000.
The plan consists of installing new lighting, an automation control system, heating and cooling, and water pluming system upgrades.
The dorms and St. Michaels cafeteria will be upgraded during this process as well as the Watson administrative building.
Maur Hill-Mount Academy’s facility upgrades will begin on July 1st.
This exemption issuance has no impact on county taxpayer.
Commissioners also conducted a budget workshop with Emergency Preparedness and I.T. Director Wes Lanter.
County Commissioner Jeff Schuele says Lanter is proposing mergers and a slight increase in parts of his budget.
