Burris, identified as Hord's ex-boyfriend, will now likely face a number of charges, but those details are continuing to be sorted out(Play Audio)
Hord was abducted, allegedly by Burris, following an altercation around 9:00 Wednesday night, in the parking lot of a Leavenworth Casey's convenience store, located at 20th and Spruce Streets.
Eyewitnesses say Burris grabbed Hord by the arm and forced her into the passenger seat of her car, which he drove away.
All throughout the day Thursday, family and friends of Hord on Facebook posted her pictures and made pleas for public assistance in locating her. A Facebook page to organize the public help was also set up.
Shortly before 3:00 Thursday afternoon the Amber Alert was issued.
The fear, and concern, for Hord's fate was increased due to what her step-father, Don Besette, calls a violence plagued relationship with Burris(Play Audio)
Since the time Hord was brought to safety, and Burris apprehended, the Facebook page, in Hord's honor, has been filled with joyful messages from family members, and friends, thrilled with the happy ending.
