The Missouri Department of Transportation has re-opened U.S. Highway 136 at the Cow Creek bridge between Rock Port and Tarkio.
The bridge has been closed since May 21 (44 days) for a bridge replacement project. The Cow Creek bridge was completed under the Missouri Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program which improved 14 bridges in Atchison County.
The Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program will replace 190 bridges in Northwest Missouri by the end of 2013. Currently in Northwest Missouri, seven bridges are under construction.
