Brown County Courthouse
( KNZA )--Due to the hot and dry conditions, a countywide outdoor burning ban has been issued for Brown County, effective immediately.
Brown County Commissioners took the action today ( Monday) on the recommendation of County Emergency Management Director Randy Linck.
Linck said he had talked to some of the fire chiefs in the county, and they tended to agree that a burn ban was needed.
Commissioners were in agreement as well.
Commissioner Warren Ploeger said the dry and hot weather is creating dangerous conditions.
All open burning is prohibited—including trash barrel fires.
The burn ban will remain in effect until there is significant rainfall.
