Huskers Ranked 16th in Pre-season Poll
Nebraska is one of four Big Ten teams in the top 25 of the USA Today Coaches Poll released Thursday. The Huskers, coming off a 9-4 campaign, are ranked 16th with a total of 501 points.
Other Big Ten teams ranked in the preseason poll include Michigan ranked 8th, Wisconsin 12th, and Michigan State 13th. Both Michigan and Wisconsin will travel to Lincoln this season. In addition, the Huskers' season-opening opponent, Southern Miss, is receiving votes after coming off a 12-2 campaign in 2011.
Nebraska will hold its annual Fan Day today (Friday) at Memorial Stadium beginning at 2 p.m. with the first practice of the fall set for Saturday morning.
