(KLZA) Last week Richardson County Commissioners met with Richardson County Historical Society representatives Mr. & Mrs. Richard Meinzer and JoAnn Auxier who made a request for continued support from the County for the organization. The Society has requested $20,000 to keep up with the inflated cost of operation.
Commissioners voted unanimously to enter into a rental agreement for the use of an excavator owned by David Sickel from July 25th through August 31st. Sickel, a County Commissioner agreed to donate the use of the excavator to Richardson County.
The Fiscal Year 2012-13 County Budget was submitted to the Board for consideration. The budget was prepared using the requests from the different departments and officials. Commissioners will spend the next several weeks reviewing the entire budget. The next budget must be adopted by September 18th.
A request from the Village of Shubert to have the authority to sound the emergency sirens at their discretion was briefly discussed. The topic will be reviewed this week with Emergency Management Agency Director Jim Gerweck.
