(KAIR) -- A write-in candidate could be the next Mayor of Easton.
No one filed for the post currently held by Phil Mires, who didn’t seek re-election.
This opens up a scenario for the General Election in April, where anyone could be elected.
However, City Clerk Jere Chieppo says the option will still remain to the one elected.

Five positions are up for Easton City Council as well, as incumbents Shannan Hadley, Barb Redieck, Sherry Dodson, Bob Watkins and Kent Edmonds have filed, while Clint and Joey Culbertson are looking to unseat any of those at-large positions.
The write-in scenario will also play out for the Easton USD 449 school board as Kim Sachse filed for re-election to Position 5 and David Hattok to Position 6, however Howard Crook did not file for re-election to his seat in Position 4, leaving it vacant.
