(KAIR) -- Seven contractors submitted bids for work on renovating the historic Memorial Hall in Atchison.
Contractors ranged locally with three from Atchison to Leavenworth, to Maryville and Grandview, Missouri.
The apparent low bidder is PCI Dahmer of Grandview, Missouri; however, action must still be taken by Atchison County Commissioners after review from River Bluff Architects.
Proposed renovations to the building include replacement of windows, doors and lentils.
Commissioners also signed off Monday afternoon on a purchase for a new excavator for the Road and Bridge department for just over 159 thousand dollars.
A majority of the meeting was dominated by county citizens protesting their recent assessed land valuations with Commissioners and Appraiser Jim Lampe.
Questions centered on re-classifications, including the difference from wasteland and grass or range land and jumps in value, largely seen from 10 dollars an acre to 11 hundred dollars.
