Falls City Tiger Athletes Honored at Annual Banquet

(KTNC) - Falls City High School athletes were recognized Sunday night during the 43rd annual Tiger Booster Club Athletic Banquet, held at the Falls City Elk’s Lodge.
 Tiger coaches summarized their seasons and presented individual honors to athletes in fall, winter, and spring sports.
 The evening culminated with the presentation of the awards for Outstanding Girl and Outstanding Boy athlete.  Two seniors were recognized this year, with Claire Poppe named the Outstanding Girl Athlete and Cord Huettner the Outstanding Boy Athlete.
 The Booster Club presented scholarships to six seniors – Poppe, Huettner, Tressa Chandler, Wade Maddox, Wade Witt, and David von Behren – and 31 student-athletes were presented with Scholar Athlete awards.
 The keynote speaker for the evening was University of Nebraska Men’s Basketball Strength and Conditioning Coordinator, Tim Wilson.  Wilson is a 1976 Falls City High School graduate, and a 1981 UNL graduate. 
He’s been in his current position with the Husker men’s basketball program for three years.  He’s also been a strength coach at UNLV and the University of Pittsburgh, and with the Chicago White Sox and Milwaukee Bucks.
