(KAIR) -- In an effort to close a projected budget gap, the USD 377 school district in Effingham will eliminate one position and consolidate several others.
The school board Monday night voted to eliminate the position of junior-senior high math and strategic reading teacher Staci Honas, absorb an elementary aide position with the upcoming retirement of Lorraine Strine and reassign several full-time positions to half-time.
Superintendent Steve Wiseman says despite the budget gaps, zero educational programs will be eliminated.
