(KTNC) - Travelers to the Midwest will experience sticker shock when the see how expensive gas prices are here compared to other areas in the country.
Triple-A reports prices range from $3.17 in Tucson to $4.35 in Minneapolis. Spokesperson Rose White says two refineries, one in Illinois and another in Indiana stopped production for maintenance and now a refinery in Kansas is closed for 10 days as well. (play audio :32)
Production at Midwest refineries is the lowest it’s been in 23 years, and White says there is a concern about gasoline supplies. (play audio :23)
White says we could easily see $4.11 a gallon in Nebraska within the next two weeks.
