(KNZA)--Former Brown County Attorney Phillip “ Phil” Burdick has died.
Burdick died Friday at Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph at the age of 59.
Burdick graduated from the University of Kansas Law School in 1979 and went on to practice at Gernon Law in Hiawatha. He then served two terms as Brown County Attorney.
Burdick became a member of the Missouri Bar in 1994 and began his practice in St. Joseph, as Burdick Law Offices, where he continued to practice until a few days before his death.
A celebration of life service for Burdick will be held Wednesday in St. Joseph.
