(KAIR)--A pickup truck reported stolen in Kansas City has been recovered in Atchison.
According to Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson, an officer on patrol spotted the vehicle stopped in a parking lot located in the 600 block of South Tenth Street late Saturday night. The officer did not see tags on the truck and decided to investigate.
Upon investigation, it was discovered that the truck was stolen out of Kansas City, and the two occupants, 33-year-old Stanley Fleer of Kansas City, MO and 29-year-old Kristen Milum of Kearney, MO had what appeared to be methamphetamine in their possession.
Fleer and Milum both face charges of possession of stolen property, obstructing the legal process, and possession of methamphetamine.
The obstruction charge comes after Milum and Fleer provided false names to police during the investigation.
Both remain in the Atchison County Jail.
