An Atchison man could face several months in prison after pleading guilty to an amended felony drug charge.
Jesse Smith pled guilty today (Monday) in Atchison County Court on a felony marijuana possession charge, as well as a misdemeanor domestic battery count.
A charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and felony introduction of contraband into a penal institution was dismissed by the county attorney.
Smith was arrested November 19th by Atchison for striking his ex-girlfriend at a local restaurant.
After being booked into jail, officers discovered marijuana rolled in a paper in a cigarette box.
Since its Smith’s second marijuana conviction, it’s a felony.
He could face 10 to 42 months in prison on the level four drug felony.
Sentencing is scheduled for February 27th and he remains out on 12 thousand 500 dollars bond.
