Atchison County Commissioners will need to look for a new Emergency Preparedness Director.
Lori Chew will resign that position, as well as her position as Noxious Weed Director and First Responder Director effective February 24th.
Chew has been with the County for 10 years, working in the Sheriff’s office before taking the Administrative Assistant position in her current department for five years before becoming the Emergency Preparedness Director for just over a year.
She will leave the position to take a position in the private sector at Benedictine College. Chew describes the part of the job she will miss the most.
