Two Richardson County residents have requested that recall petitions be issued for the recall of Richardson County Assessor Regina Cummings.
The affidavits were filed Monday, February 6th by Terry Lotter of Falls City and Fred Brewer of rural Falls City who jointly made the request that the recall petitions be issued.
Notice was served to Regina Cummings of the filing of the affidavit for recall petitions. Cummings has 20 days to submit a defense statement to be included on the petition forms.
The petitioners must obtain signatures from 35-percent of the 2,431 voters who cast a ballot in the last election. It will require just over 850 signatures for the recall to be valid.
Fred Brewer said he had no comment at this time on the recall petition and we were unable to reach Terry Lotter or Assessor Cummings for comment at this time.
Regina Cummings has served as Richardson County Assessor since January of 1995 and has worked in the office since 1982.
