With River Road, crews plan to elevate the road and use chip and seal with haydite dust control.

In the Maintenenance Department, Supervisor Joe Bowen is requesting a 142 thousand 336 dollar budget, 33 thousand higher than last year or four or five percent.

The increase is intended for motor vehicle replacement and capital outlay around the courthouse.

Commissioners also tabled architectural bids on the Memorial Hall window lentil project after receiving bids of 19 thousand 524 dollars from Riverbluff Architects and 12 thousand 510 dollars from Ben Moore Studios of Council Grove.

Schuele says Joe Bowen will take a closer look at the specs before they decide on the bid.

Commissioners also approved a proposal from Administrator Peggy House to enlist skilled care nursing by the end of 2012 at Atchison Senior Village.

Schuele says it’s a common upgrade seen elsewhere in the medical field.
