(KAIR) -- A traffic stop on Interstate 29 in Platte County leads to a nearly 600 thousand dollar cocaine bust.
Tuesday evening at approximately 9:45, the Platte County Sheriff’s Office seized over 13 pounds of suspected cocaine after stopping moving van that was travelling southbound off I-29 at I-435 eastbound for traffic violations.
During a subsequent search of the vehicle the suspected cocaine was located in the rear of the truck in duffle bags.
The estimate value of the suspected cocaine is at least 595 thousand dollars.
Marcos V. Gonzalez, a 36 year old Hispanic male and Lorena Bustos, a 38 year old Hispanic female, both from California, were arrested for possession of narcotics with intent to distribute.
