Meriden Man Pleads Not Guilty to Robbery Related Charges

(KAIR) -- A 30-year-old Meriden man has pled not guilty to 10 charges stemming from an alleged robbery.

A jury trial for James Stewart II was set for July 17th after he entered the plea Thursday in Jefferson County District Court.

He’s accused of threatening two individuals at gunpoint, while taking money from them, at a residence in Meriden on March 16th.

Stewart faces one count of aggravated robbery, one count of aggravated burglary, two counts of aggravated intimidation of a witness, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, one count of criminal possession of a firearm, two counts of criminal threat and one count of misdemeanor theft.

A pre-trial conference has been set for June 6th.

He remains in Jefferson County Jail on a 50 thousand dollar cash only bond.
