(KNZA)--Formal charges have been filed against a Topeka man accused of the rape and torture of a Holton woman.
Jackson County Attorney Shawna Miller says Filip Rosario on Monday was formally charged with attempted capital murder, two counts of rape, aggravated kidnapping, two counts of criminal sodomy, aggravated battery, criminal threat and domestic battery.
Appointed an attorney, the 35-year-old Rosario is scheduled for his first appearance in a Jackson County Courtroom on Monday morning, December 30th.
Rosario was arrested in the early morning hours of Saturday after he was located in a Topeka parking lot.
Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says the victim, who was acquainted with Rosario, was attacked at a Holton residence.
She required hospitalized treatment due to the extent of injuries she received.
Rosario remains held in the Jackson County Jail on bond of $100,000.
