(KAIR)--An Atchison man was injured Monday evening after interrupting several suspects allegedly attempting to break-into his vehicle.
Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson says officers responded to a call of an attempted vehicle burglary in the 1600 block of Jayhawk Dr just after 6:00 Monday evening. Wilson said when officers arrived they discovered that the 33-year-old victim had tried to apprehend one of the three suspects.
Wilson says the victim received a leg injury when the suspects attempted to flee the scene in a vehicle and ran over him.
Wilson says one of the suspects, who was allegedly burglarizing a second car fled the scene, but later turned himself in to police. Officials have identified the other two suspects who escaped in the vehicle.
The victim was transported to the Atchison hospital for treatment of his leg injury.
