Gary Green
Kickapoo Reservation, KS

Gary "Nas-Wah-Bah" Knoxsah Green, 56, of the Kickapoo Reservation, passed away on April 29, 2012 at the Horton Community Hospital. He was born on January 14, 1956 in Horton, Kansas the son of George and Pauline Wahwahsuck Knoxsah. Gary was a mechanic and operated Busted Knuckles Garage on the Kickapoo Reservation for years. Gary was a member of the Kickapoo Tribe and the Kennekuk Church. On April 16, 1983 he married Sandra Vanartsdalen in Horton, Kansas. She survives of Independence, Missouri. Additional survivors include; son, Gary Green Jr. of Independence, Missouri; daughter, Paulene Knoxsah-Green of Horton, Kansas; sisters, Vivian Wishteyah and Charlene Whitebird both of Horton, Kansas; foster father, Clarence Pollock of Powhattan, Kansas; two step daughters, Rhoda Little Eagle of Independence, Missouri and Jessica Salas of San Antonio, Texas; eleven grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Leland Green, two sisters, Roselle Green and Nellie Shopteese. Kennekuk Church services will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Kickapoo Community Building on the Kickapoo Reservation. Burial will be at the Kennekuk Cemetery at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday morning. A special message may be sent to the family at
