Kiewit Grant Awarded to Falls City Ballpark Project

The City of Falls City and Falls City Ballpark Improvement Committee announced Monday that the Peter Kiewit Foundation has awarded the project a 100-thousand dollar grant to support the renovation of the ball fields at Dallas Jones Park.
The Executive Director of the Kiewit Foundation commended the committee on their fundraising effort and results.
Committee Treasurer Kevin Malone said the committee is thrilled with the Kiewit grant and grateful to the Foundation trustees.
Malone said the Kiewit grant will allow some added work at Grandview Park that was not in the original plans.  ( play audio  :38 seconds) 
The total estimated cost of the Dallas Jones renovation is $1,963,800 with the Grandview renovation estimated at $137,970.  The committee has raised over $1,890,000 in pledges and they want to again thank everyone for their support for the project.

While the numbers appear to cover the costs of the project,  Malone said there were some costs that this grant will also help cover that could not necessarily be known at the beginning.  ( play audio :49 seconds )
