Falls City Council Approves Loan For Ballpark Project

The Falls City, City Council has approved a loan of up to $600,000 to the Ballpark Improvement Committee to pay off the project when it is completed.  Committee member Kevin Malone explained the need for the loan to the Council Monday night.  ( play audio  :45 seconds ) 
Malone explained the Ballpark Committee will pay the loan back with interest.  ( play audio :23 seconds ) 
Prior to the vote, Mayor Tim Hersh encouraged the Council to approve the request.  ( play audio :23 seconds ) 
City Administrator Gary Jorn said the City would be able to afford to make the loan to the committee.
Some preliminary work is already underway at Dallas Jones Park and Monday night was the final game to be played by the Legion teams at the big diamond for this season.  The Summer Rec games are scheduled to be completed by the end of this week if there are no rainouts.
