(KTNC) - The first part of the ballpark renovation project in Falls City is complete.  The John and Amalia Morehead Field at Grandview Park was dedicated Thursday evening, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony prior to the Falls City Tigers’ first home softball game of the season.
Brian Poppe, who has spearheaded the Ballpark Renovation Committee, thanked those who helped make the renovation possible.  He says it took a lot of hard work from a lot of people to bring the project together, and gives his initial impression on the new field.  (play audio  :29)
Grandview Park will be a temporary home for the Falls City Tigers.  They’ll use the field this season as work continues to renovate the fields at Dallas Jones Park.  Poppe says work there is progressing well.  (play audio  :22)
Turf Solutions of Peoria, Illinois is the project architect.  Representatives from Turf Solutions were on hand for the ribbon-cutting, along with the Morehead family, and representatives from Falls City Recreation, the Park Board, and the City of Falls City.
