The east entrance to the Atchison County Courthouse will be off limits to the public for the next several months.
That’s because construction has begun on the ADA required elevator project on that side of the courthouse.
County Commissioner Jeff Schuele says the closure could last for the duration of the project, which could be until late fall or early winter.
Schuele says Commissioners plan to have monthly progress meetings with contractor Mike Hundley.
County Commissioners will also have an intern on loan for the next several weeks from the city of Atchison on the joint solid waste project.
Schuele says he will be assisting with solid waste fee data collection.
