(KAIR) -- A 30-year-old Atchison man has been found competent to stand trial on felony charges of theft and aggravated assault.
Matthew Billington learned the results of the report from Larned State Hospital Monday in Atchison County District Court.
Billington will now make his next appearance on the charges on July 27th.
He was arrested by Atchison Police in early March on a warrant for allegedly taking electronic equipment from Atchison Elementary School on February 27th.
During the attempt to arrest Billington, he allegedly pulled a knife and threatened the officer.
After a brief alleged struggle, he was taken into custody and no one was injured.
He remains in jail on 20 thousand dollars bond.
