There has been talk on Capitol Hill of extending the 2008 Farm Bill for a year. That won't help livestock producers suffering from drought conditions because those provisions expired a year ago. Congress breaks in August and the current farm bill ends in September.
Senator Nelson says the Tea Party is holding up passage of the 2012 Farm Bill in the U-S House. He says they are digging in their heels regarding the amount of money budgeted for food stamps and they want that amount reduced. ( PLAY AUDIO :23 SECONDS )
