(KNZA)--Train cars derail as a Union Pacific train passes through the Hiawatha area late Monday morning, leaving the Miami Street intersection closed.

Heavy equipment was moved in Monday afternoon, with a derailment specialist team on the scene, working with heavy equipment to upright the cars. As the scene is cleared, any needed repair work will be conducted on the railroad tracks.
As of last check, the Miami Street intersection remained blocked as the effort is conducted.
