(KNZA)-Technical difficulties could leave some rural Brown County taxpayers wondering what happened to their 2012 tax statements.
Brown County Treasurer Cheryl Lippold says the missing statements are due to what she describes as a conversion error between the County Appraiser's tax program and the one used by the County Treasurer's office.
Lippold is requesting that rural taxpayers check their tax statements to see if all have been received. If one or more statement is missing, the Treasurer's office should be notified immediately at 785-742-2051 and a new statement will be sent.
Lippold, who says all taxpayers with incorrect statements will be issued corrected versions once records are able to be checked, apologizes for the error and asks taxpayers to be patient as the matter is resolved.
