(KTNC) - The Johnson-Brock Board of Education discussed a proposed building addition during a special meeting Monday night. The board met with an architect and construction company from Lincoln to review ideas. Superintendent Jeff Koehler says this was the second meeting they’ve had with the companies. (play audio :28)
Koehler says the plans included a new library, a new science room, and an administrative office. That would free up more needed classroom space.
Koehler says about 30 district patrons were at the meeting, and he says they seemed to generally favor what they saw – except the price tag. (play audio :19)
Koehler says the architect will revise the plans again to try and fit the building project into the budget. (play audio :17)
Koehler says they hope to have new drawings to present in a couple weeks. While space is a concern for the Johnson-Brock School District, Koehler says they don’t want to rush into a building project and make the wrong decision.
