(KNZA)--The Kansas Department of Transportation has approved a bid for a Doniphan County bridge replacement project.
WCI Inc., of Paola, was awarded the contract for the replacement of a bridge about 7 miles southeast of Purcell for just over $450,000.
The bid letting took place October 21st in Topeka, and the bid was the lowest among four received.
Federal funding through a KDOT program will pay for 80 percent of the construction cost, with Doniphan County responsible for the remaining 20 percent plus engineering costs.
A date hasn’t been announced for the start of construction.
