HTRS School Board members reorganized for the next year when they met last week. Steve Schaardt ( shart ) was elected Board President, Ben Steffen was elected Vice President of the Board, Sandy Stalder was appointed Board Treasurer, Superintendent Clint Kimbrough was appointed Board Secretary and Kelly Workman was appointed Board Recorder.
No changes were made to the districts official newspapers or bank depositories.
The HTRS Board accepted the resignation of Humboldt site Principal Laurie Kimbrough who plans to retire at the end of the current school year. She will have served for nearly 11 years as principal at HTRS and also served 12 years as a principal in Iowa.
The Board held an executive session to discuss personnel. After the executive session Board members voted to move the contract of Superintendent Clint Kimbrough to committee.
The resignation of Head Cook Linda Hunzeker was accepted effective at the end of the school year and the board approved hiring Kim Anthony as a cook for the district with the start of the 2012-13 school year.
Board members also reviewed progress on a property purchase near Power Field in Humboldt and a letter from Lewiston Schools inquiring about the possibility of a junior high football coop.
The Board also voted to recognize the HTRS Education Association as the bargaining unit for the districts teachers.
Superintendent Clint Kimbrough said the Board also discussed a number of priorities for the school district. ( play audio :43 seconds )
